SAN DIEGO.....YAHOO!!

Christopher and I got to spend five days in beautiful San Diego the first week of February! It was soooooo fun! We flew out of the Alamosa airport (spooky) on a little puddle jumper plane, into Denver, then from Denver to San Diego. The plants there are so awesome. The palm trees....wow! After attempting to check into our hotel, we decided to go to the beach. It was warm, and people were out in their summer clothes (or lack of). I have never seen the ocean before, and can't believe how it just goes on forever. How pretty. I can see why some people spend so much time at the beach! It is totally relaxing!

We stayed at the Bahia Resort Hotel at Mission Bay, and had a stunning view right out the back patio...the ferry pictured gave free "bay tours" on Friday and Saturday evenings to hotel guests. Unfortunately, it was reserved for a company retreat, so we didn't get to do the tour. But our view was so cool! And the beach was right there!!!Our room is the one furthest left on the bottom floor by the big trees.
We visited Disneyland, but didn't really get any cool pictures because there's no flash photography allowed. It was so fun, though. We also went to Sea World, and that was a bit disappointing considering the entrance fee, but it was still fun and we saw some cool sea creatures.

Um, the magnifying glass is to help ya get a better view of the little fishies, Christopher!
I always thought the starfish and sea cucumbers were hard even when alive, but they're not! They're actually soft and a little squishy.
The killer whales weren't in the mood for visitors. They just kind of floated around and it was hard to get a good picture of them.
Now the dolphins....how cute! This one had a football that he was playing with. He would go under the water, then pop up, get the ball in his mouth, take it under, then pop up and let it fly through the air. We watched the dolphins for about fifteen minutes, and he played this game the entire time!
Thank goodness for GPS! We got from point A to point B without any problems. I told Christopher that we didn't even need half a brain to travel around San Diego with GPS. It tells ya every little detail. "Exit on the right in 1.2 miles on...."

Unfortunately, the San Diego Temple was closed for cleaning so we weren't able to go in, but the rain stopped just long enough for us to set up the camera and take a couple of pictures. It's amazing how peaceful the temple grounds are considering that it is right next to the freeway!

Welcome aboard the USS Midway! We toured a retired aircraft carrier, and it was so cool. I can't believe the things can even float on water because they're so big! And the living conditions of the crew were very....interesting. (Kinda gross.)

And this is the car we drove all over! A Dodge Charger! Cool car! OK, well, I didn't drive; just Christopher did....but it was cool to ride in too!
